Now Taurine has different functions: it has an emulsifying action on lipids in the small intestine, promoting their intestinal absorption and thus of fat-soluble vitamins, as it is generally associated with one of the most abundant acids in bile, chenodeoxycholic acid; participates as a metabolic mediator; strengthens heart contractions; stabilizes cell membranes; and participates in the regulation of neuronal excitability.
