Does one of your resolutions for 2021 include taking care of yourself more? Nothing better than starting by treating the largest organ in the body - your skin!
So that you can start the year truly in beauty, we leave you with some tips on the steps to include in your daily routine and the products indicated for each type of skin, according to its formulation and texture.
Shall we do this?
Let's start this journey into the world of beauty at the beginning. If you are not in the habit of taking care of your skin, or even if you do, you should know that there are 3 essential steps:
1. Cleaning 2. Hydration 3. Sun Protection
In addition to these steps, which you should never neglect, you can also use:
- Tonic or Essence;
- Be a;
- Eye Contour;
- Exfoliating;
- Mask.
CLEANING
Cleaning should be done twice a day and is an essential step, even if you don't wear make-up, as this step removes dirt from the skin related to pollution, applied products, sebum production and dead cells.
A correct and elaborate cleaning with products suitable for your skin type and/or type of make-up, minimizes the risk of developing acne, improves the texture of the skin and promotes the penetration of the products that you apply afterwards.
You should choose the texture of the cleaning products according to your skin type and/or the type of make-up:
- Oily to Mixed Skin: opt for gel or foam as they do not leave residue. Some cleansing oils, depending on their composition, can also be used for this skin type.
- Dry Skin: Opt for textures in milk, cream or cleansing oil, which make the skin more comfortable without delipidating too much.
If you use make-up with high coverage and/or waterproof (waterproof) or very resistant sunscreens, you should do a double or triple cleaning with:
1. Two-phase make-up remover (for the eyes, for example, if you use waterproof mascara).
2. Cleansing Oil
3. Cleansing Balm
HYDRATION
You should apply your moisturizing cream followed by cleansing your face, in the morning before sunscreen and at night.
The main function of the moisturizing cream is to increase the water content and the ability of the skin to retain it – through humectants –, while preventing its evaporation, by forming an occlusive layer.
It may also contain other components in the formula, such as vitamins, antioxidants, tranquilizers, prebiotics, among others.
SOLAR PROTECTION
Never forget the golden rule: sunscreen daily! In the morning, after cleansing your skin, after moisturizing or replacing it, you shouldn't miss any day of this year in your routine!
You should choose one with high UV protection (SPF of at least 30, but ideally 50 to ensure greater protection against UVA radiation). Additionally, it should also provide protection against infrared and blue light.
If it's not a sunny day and you don't go outside, you don't need to put it on, right? Wrong! You should apply it even at home and in the office, either because of the percentage of solar radiation that enters, or because of the blue light from the lamps and screens of your computer and cell phone.
In addition to protecting against radiation, sunscreen prevents signs of aging such as wrinkles, loss of firmness, blemishes and the worsening of acne marks and wounds or scars.
Its texture should be chosen according to your skin type. Pay attention to the labeling of your sunscreen:
Skin Type |
Labeling |
Oily skin |
Emulsion, Fluid, “Light”, “Mate” or “Dry Touch” |
Dry skin | Cream, Balm, “Rich”, “Nourishing” |
Intolerant skin | Mineral Filters, Perfume Free |
pigmented skin |
FPS≥50 high UVA protection Blue Light and IR Protection |
It never hurts to add that this routine may not be enough for everyone. In some cases, it will need to be supplemented, as the various steps to include depend on the condition of your skin, any associated pathology and even the season of the year!
