Now Taurine has different functions: it has an emulsifying action on lipids in the small intestine, promoting their intestinal absorption and thus of fat-soluble vitamins, since it is generally associated with one of the most abundant acids in bile, chenodeoxycholic acid; it participates as a metabolic mediator; it strengthens cardiac contractions; it stabilizes cell membranes; and it participates in the regulation of neuronal excitability.
