Post-summer detox: tips to reset your skin

Autumn is here, and we all know what that means - the end of the hottest days and the return to routine. To return strong and prepared to face new challenges, we have prepared a Post-Summer Detox list, with Tips for Resetting your Skin.

After holidays and bathing in the sea and pool, endless hours of sun, sand, wind and chlorine, it's natural for your skin to feel more dehydrated than usual.

Don't worry, we can help! Read our tips and adjust your routine to get into Autumn strong and at your best!

1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate

Hydration is the watchword! The hydrolipidic film in the epidermis of our skin works as a barrier that protects it from water loss and, consequently, dehydration. Therefore, it is important to acquire some habits so that you are always hydrated: drink water, wash your face with lukewarm water (never hot), do not use aggressive cleaning soaps and put on a moisturizing cream to help replenish the skin's ceramides.

Serums are also a great option because they reach deeper layers of the skin.

2. Cleanse and Exfoliate

So often neglected, the cleaning step is fundamental to eliminate impurities and oxygenate the skin, facilitating the absorption of any product that we apply later. Exfoliating once a week is essential to eliminate dead cells, regenerate the epidermis and promote a more uniform texture of your skin!

3. Nourish the Body and Repair Damage

Getting back to routine also involves eating. Are you tired of knowing that it's time to exchange your holiday ice creams and beers for water, fruit and vegetables, but you don't have the motivation? What if we tell you that, in addition to your body, your skin also benefits from the change? Fruits and vegetables favor skin hydration as they provide our body with the necessary water and mineral salts. Vitamin C, present in large amounts in citrus fruits, tomatoes, spinach, broccoli, mangoes, papayas, kiwis and pineapples, stimulates the production of collagen, which is responsible for skin elasticity, is an antioxidant and has a slight depigmenting action. As it is essential in combating the signs of aging - such as wrinkles and loss of firmness - and effective in removing spots and signs that the sun insists on causing, vitamin C is an extremely beneficial ingredient. You can complement your beauty routine with products that contain this ingredient in their composition.

4. Prolong the Tan

To prolong that tan that took months to achieve, you can add to the previous tips the use of after-sun or oral supplements. When choosing after-sun care, it is important to take into account factors such as hydration and anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties to soothe your skin. Moisturizing the skin with an after-sun cream helps prevent flaking and prolongs the tan until the cold months.

Another interesting product to add to your routine is a specific food supplement for bronze. In addition to helping prepare the skin for the sun - if taken before sun exposure - its antioxidant ingredients such as Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Selenium, and pigments such as carotenoids help to prolong the tan. You can take them all year round!

5. All Year Sunscreen

Prevention is better than cure! And we dare to say that there is no phrase that better defines a sunscreen. This product, in addition to preventing photoaging, spots and signs caused by the sun, reduces the incidence of skin cancers. Ultraviolet rays are present throughout the year, so you should include sunscreen daily in your routine, 365 days a year.
